Ms. Gupta noted that there are a lot of ash remaining. Mr. Haberman explained they went through and got the worst trees this time and will go through again and get the other trees that are diseased. This is the first pass through to get the worst offenders. Ms. Gupta inquired on the low bid being considerably lower and Mr. Haberman provided an explanation. Ms. Gupta inquired on timber sales and regeneration. Mr. Haberman said they do not plan to intervene on regeneration. Ms. Gupta asked if the City could sell timber with Mr. Nigbur answering yes. Ms. Gupta encouraged staff to think bigger regarding the sale of timber and regeneration. Mr. Nigbur stated he is not certain of the historical look of the area, stating it is not a bad thing to be cleared as part of the flood control project. Dr. Scanlon asked how they define high risk trees. Mr. Haberman answered trees that are leaning, over the trail, confirmed with EAB, and in danger of falling.
